Golden Belt Heights continues to sell lots
April 4, 2024
Since the city placed a reinvestment rural housing incentive district (then called a rural housing incentive district) on the Golden Belt Heights in 2022, the city has continuously sold lots for the past two years and several homes have been built. Even an apartment building is under construction.
“Considering for 15 years it (Golden Belt Heights) sat vacant and barren and since 2022 we’ve done all this in the midst of increased interest rates, the housing market going through the roof and being just crazy, I think we’ve done great… It’s amazing to me what’s going on out there,” City Manager Ron Marsh said about the growth of the housing development in west Abilene.
