As economic developers, we understand the important role parks and recreation play in our community. They are essential for local residents having a high quality of life, enjoying being here and for new families looking for a place to live. Parks and recreation can also serve as an economic driver through tourism.

July is Park and Recreation Month! This year’s theme, We Rise Up for Parks and Recreation, honors all of the dedicated workers as we thank them for ensuring parks and recreational spaces throughout America are safe, clean, and enjoyable. From volunteer staff to full-time and government employees, our outside experiences are better because of YOU!

Outdoor Activities

Dickinson County embraces outdoor recreation with our parks, sports complexes, swimming pools, trails and other outdoor spaces. Our parks and recreation departments do a wonderful job providing opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy themselves outside. We encourage you to grab a friend, go outside, explore and do something new or different.
