DKEDC partners with Opportunity Funding

In 2016 the DKEDC Board of Directors voted to partner with Opportunity Funding to embark on a process that would allow the corporation to assess the economic possibilities in Dickinson County, and implement a capital campaign to support economic development in Dickinson County. Doug Kinsinger, Principal in Opportunity Funding, started working with the Board to identify stakeholders and engage volunteers throughout the county to serve on various committees. Branding, Valuation and Operations were a few of the committees formed.
“Driving Dickinson County” was chosen as the theme of the campaign. Each of the committees have had several meetings and the campaign has experienced great successful thus far. Several core initiatives have been identified and defined through the process. These initiatives are Business Retention, Business Recruitment & Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Community Image Branding & Marketing.
The DKEDC Board is very appreciative to community members and committee volunteers who have helped with, and participated in the process. The DKEDC Board also looks forward to implementing the initiatives and strategies identified by the campaign.
