Veronica Murray has joined Dickinson County Economic Development Corporation (DKEDC) as an administrative assistant.  Murray joins DKEDC after being the Executive Director for the United Way of Dickinson County since 2015.

Murray has a diverse background in public service and nonprofit management.  She is currently the Chair of Leadership Dickinson County, a facilitator and advocate for Youth Leadership Dickinson County, a member of the Education and Civic Engagement Committee at the Abilene Chamber of Commerce, a regular participant in the monthly Community Forum, a member of the BCBS Pathways leadership team, a volunteer pediatric CPR instructor and a member of the Breastfeeding Coalition of Dickinson County.  She enjoys volunteering for the Heritage Home tours, public school functions and other opportunities that present themselves.

On joining DKEDC, Murray said, “Dickinson County has been very fortunate that many businesses have presented opportunities to our community.  I see DKEDC as a group of forward thinking citizens who will strive to make progress in expanding current business and attracting new businesses as well.  I believe one key to success for economic development in the County is expanding our pool of workers and their skills, starting with young people.  I think we need to invest in young people’s commitment to being loyal and hardworking members in their hometowns.  Having a focused group of people to remain loyal to making progress on these challenges is something that all of Dickinson County can benefit from in years to come.”
