West’s Country Mart is a family owned grocery store. Bill West opened his first grocery store in Abilene, Kansas in 1968. In 1972 he opened a second location in Abilene. Then in 1993 he purchased the current Country Mart store. The other two grocery stores were closed and combined into the Country Mart. There are 3 generations of West’s working in the store. Bill, his son Steve and Steve’s son Chris. The Country Mart store is a full service grocery store. It is one of the few stores left that sack and carry-out your groceries. Customer service is their main priority.
