Solomon lies on the Dickinson-Saline county line, 13 miles east of Salina off Old U.S. Highway 40 and 15 miles via I-70. The city has a population of just over 1,000 and has completed a downtown revitalization project which includes a paved downtown parking lot with improved drainage. Landscaping is in place and business owners are improving building facades.
