Ken Wood

Member of the Board, Dickinson County

Department: DKEDC Board

Ken Wood is a lifetime resident of Dickinson County, growing up and living on a farm west of Chapman.  he graduated from Chapman High School, then attended Kansas State University. University where he majored in Agricultural Economics and met his wife Debra.  Ken farmed with his father and brother and retired in 2020, but agriculture remains a big part of his life.

Service to the community and industry is important to Ken, and he has served on numerous boards and committees at the local, state, and federal levels.  he is a proud graduate of the Kansas Agriculture and Rural leadership program and subsequently served as Chairman of the Board of the KARL organization.

Ken is interested in economic development because if an area isn't growing it is likely slipping backward. The DKEDC has had some real success within the county, and Ken would like to contribute to that process.

Ken and Deb have two children and two grandchildren, so they love to travel.  Ken's wife is a K-state Research and Extention Agent based out of Salina.

Ken, was appointed by the Dickinson County Board of Commissioners as the county representative.
